What are SPMU brows?

SPMU (semi-permanent makeup) brow treatments involve applying an industry-regulated pigment to the dermal layer of the skin. The brows are carefully shaded, with the finished result resembling softly applied brow makeup (powder brows).

With powder brows, you can stick with a subtle finish or go as bold as you dare. Your brows will appear quite intense immediately after the treatment but don’t panic; the pigment color will soon fade and settle to achieve your desired results.

What is microblading?

Microblading is also a type of semi-permanent makeup. Instead of shading the brows with a machine, you use a handheld blade to deposit the color pigment onto the brow area and create featherweight hair strokes that mimic natural hairs. Microblading is great for those with sparse or patchy brows and creates beautifully natural-looking results.

What are combination brows?

Combination brows are created by blending microblading and machine brows to achieve natural-looking results. Often clients will need a few extra hair strokes adding to the bulb of their natural brows and then shading across the rest of the brow to complete the look. We can discuss the best SPMU treatment for you at your appointment.

Who can benefit from SPMU brow treatments?

Everyone can benefit from my SPMU treatments in Dubai. Especially those who react badly to traditional makeup and eyebrow tints, struggle to apply brow makeup or simply want to ‘wake up made up.’

If you’ve no time to do your brows but still want to look fabulous or need a bit of a confidence boost, my SPMU brow treatments are perfect for you! Get in touch to book an appointment.

Am I suitable for SPMU treatments?

SPMU treatments are safe for most people, but if you have any pre-existing skin or medical conditions, please let us know when you book your appointment. This way, we can double-check that you are suitable for SPMU. We’d also recommend checking with your doctor to be on the safe side.

Can I book SPMU treatments if I’m pregnant?

While they’re unlikely to cause any problems, I choose not to carry out my SPMU treatments on pregnant clients. I kindly ask that you wait until your baby is born to book your SPMU brows or lips. As well as ensuring the safety of you and your bundle of joy, your skin can react differently to pigments when you’re pregnant, so you’ll get way better results if you wait!

How many SPMU treatments will I need?

This can depend on several things, including the condition of your brows pre-treatment, how well the pigment settles into your skin, and aftercare success. Some clients may only need one SPMU treatment, but the majority have a second ‘top up’ session to make tiny tweaks and adjustments to the shape and color of their brows. After all, you want them to be perfect!

Does microblading / SPMU hurt?

It depends who you ask! Remember, we all have different pain thresholds. What one person might find painful, another might find completely comfortable. What I will say is that a lot of my clients prefer microblading & SPMU to tweezing! With your permission, I’m happy to apply a topical anaesthetic to your brows or lips to numb the treatment area and minimise any discomfort.

How long does SPMU take?

Powder brows and microblading treatment times can vary, but it’s usually between 2 - 3 hours.

How long do SPMU results last?

Again, it comes down to your skin type! But generally speaking, microblading will last 18 months+, powder brows will last 2-4 years, and lip blush can last up to 2 years. Remember, you’ll likely need a color boost in between to maintain your SPMU brows and lips.
